Ranabir Chatterjee
Strategic supply chain leadership for a changing world
Three decades of building, scaling, and transforming supply chain and logistics ecosystems across India and Southeast Asia — from the earliest days of India's logistics evolution to leading multi-country operations for one of the world's largest industrial gases companies.
About Ranabir
Pioneer of India's modern logistics sector.
Ranabir Chatterjee is a pioneer of India's modern logistics sector and a multi-country supply chain leader with more than 30 years of accountable delivery across FMCG, Oil & Gas, Cryogenic Liquids, Retail, and Connected Mobility.
He began his multinational corporate career in 1995 with Colgate-Palmolive, at a time when the term logistics was still unfamiliar in India and the discipline was only beginning to be tested. As one of the first movers in India's logistics industry, he helped shape the frameworks that would later become national standards — multimodal distribution, integrated planning, and structured supply chain governance.
Over the next three decades, Ranabir built a leadership career spanning India and Southeast Asia, combining operational depth with strategic clarity and a strong foundation from the Post Graduate Programme in Supply Chain Management at IIM Ahmedabad.

Reliance Retail
Backend supply chain & F&V processing centres
From within the Reliance Group, he was entrusted with building the backend supply chain for Reliance Retail.
- Set up the first Fruit & Vegetable Processing Centre for Reliance Retail — a nationally recognised initiative.
- Built India's early retail logistics backbone by establishing multiple staple warehouses and fruit & vegetable processing centres nationwide (Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai, Delhi, and others), and designing primary, secondary, and last-mile distribution networks that enabled on-time fulfilment.
- Designed end-to-end workflows for fresh produce, staples, and ambient categories at a time when organised retail logistics was still emerging.
This phase positioned him as a builder of first-generation logistics infrastructure in India.
